2007 / 79 A friend asked me to photograph the beggars of Bodh Gaya for a charitable project. This guy is probably the most successful beggar in Bodh Gaya. He parks himself by a particularly busy part of the road and does his best to look helpless. Later I got to know him. Like every Indian I've ever met, his self-image was excellent. I didn't detect any self-pity.
