| Bodh Gaya, the place of the Buddha's Enlightenment / 04 Entering the park that surounds the stupa, one sees this magnificent view. Pilgrims usually walk clockwise on either the upper or lower walkway around the stupa from four in the morning until ten at night. The famous Bodhi tree, which marks the spot where the Buddha sat in meditation when he attained his full awakening, is on the other side of the stupa.
