Streets of Phnom Penh / 13

Waiting for a sale, a vendor studies the cameraman. No one objected to being photographed or asked for any gratuity. With English now spoken by many more people, I felt very comfortable everywhere I went in Phnom Penh. Once at night I was looking for some limes to squeeze into my beer along a quiet street. In a tiny stall, I found just what I wanted. "Those will be three-thousand riels (exactly $.25)," said the shopkeeper. "But I can't guarantee their freshness."
"So, why don't you just give them to me?"
"Huh?" he said puzzled. And then, "Okay, sure, just take them."
