Gabon is one of the wealthiest, stable, and comfortable countries in Africa, as such it is a wonderful place to study traditional African medicine. With these pictures I hope to show you some of the charm of Gabon. For a personal account of my time in Gabon and my initiation into the world of iboga you are welcome to read my "Gabon Journal." Three months after leaving Africa I traveled to Brazil to meet Mother Auyahuasca. If working with healing plants interests you, plese see my Brazilian jounal, Meeting Mother Auyahuasca,
notes on Drinking Auyahuasca in Brazil and Peru.
These pictures, by the way were taken with consumer quality digital cameras. Hence the quality is not equal to the other pictures I've taken in 2006. I took most of them, others were taken by Candice, a fellow student who generously has allowed me to include them here. At the bottom of each page is a small movie. If you like the movie, there is more m'congo music. |
